MoonSport journalism staff provide written content for the pages of different third party websites. These publications include Varsity Cup, SA Referees, Varsity Sport, FNB Classic Clashes, Rugby 365 and Sports4U amongst others. Our journalists, both permanent and freelance, cover most sporting codes in depth.
We are developing a television format to explore the retrospective careers of sporting heroes. MoonSport has established a franchise partnership with MobSport in the UK to assist in this genre. Having established a reputation for uncompromising quality and trusted relationships under the stewardship of John Brocklehurst, MobSport is the go-to company for most English soccer teams wanting to produce content.
Work is underway on a film about transformation in Rugby directed by Adam Asmal and Lawson Naidoo. Rather than belaboring the point of its existence, the project looks for solutions to the problem from a wide range of involved politicians, players, sports bodies and the man in the street.
MoonSport journalists provide content directly to the websites of Varsity Sports, Varsity Cup, Classic Clashes, Flying Fish Beach Volleyball, the SARU Referees site and others. We contribute significantly to Rugby 365’s daily output. Our pool of writers and filmmakers is both experienced and young delivering up to the minute news and opinion pieces. We also have a number of columnists contracted to us whose content is then syndicated to interest publishers.
The company delivers multimedia player profiles as innovative stand-alone web items to sponsors to promote the sportsmen and women they have under contract. Working fast to minimize the time required from the players and thorough research is key to delivering good work in this environment.
Taking advantage of the daily requirement to interview individuals in the sports world, MoonSport built a recording studio to capture this audio and distributes relevant news pieces as podcasts on the partner websites. We have also developed a "sports roundup” format to issue short, sharp summaries of matches like the Varsity Cup.
Didier Drogba’s appearance in the now well-known Windhoek Lager commercial was produced for Jupiter Drawing Room. The core competence of our parent company is working with foreign filmmakers in an advertising environment. Filmed in Turkey, Kenya and South Africa we turned this project around in 3 weeks in order to meet the appearance schedule of the star player. We draw on the experience of working with A-list Hollywood actors to manage the tight restrictions always imposed when working with high profile sportsmen.
Our microsites take content creation to another level where we use multimedia presentations to cover specific individuals or events. A mix of the written word, moving image, still photography, charts and mood imagery combine to make compelling viewing.
