When Showmax in partnership with MTN came together to offer a unique consumer-first product that allowed South Africans to stream the Premier League from their mobile phones. It presented an exciting opportunity for Moonsport to enter the conversation the best way we know how.
Moonsport partnered with MTN to increase awareness of the unique proposition by driving social media engagement, using the massive appeal of the Premier League’s top six teams from the previous season. The campaign focused on reaching football fans by combining smart content, influencer partnerships, and sharp, topical timing.
We crafted a mix of brand-led and organic-feel content spotlighting the top six Premier League clubs. Each post was designed to engage fans and included a direct link to the Showmax subscription page—exclusively available to MTN customers. Content was amplified across MTN’s owned social channels to maximize reach and conversion. Key highlights included our work with South African creator Erve Bukasa (161k followers on Instagram), whose content delivered the strongest results across reach and engagement metrics. His unique humor and understanding of his audience made the MTN brand message feel natural and compelling.
The result: a campaign that merged football passion with entertainment to drive real results for MTN and Showmax.
