The Old Mutual Wealth Double Century stands as South Africa’s premier endurance road cycling event, embodying the pinnacle of cycling achievement. As the country's longest one-day team time trial, this iconic race challenges teams of riders to complete a 202 km route. Each November, it takes participants on a breathtaking tour through the picturesque Overberg region, starting and finishing in Swellendam. In partnership with Wonder Agency, over the last three years, we’ve leveraged our sports-focused IP and combined expertise to deliver the "Further Together" campaign. A philosophy that resonates with both the cycling community and Old Mutual Wealth’s approach to investment, where collaboration, perseverance, and strategic effort yield long-term success. Our services have enhanced the participant experience with onsite technicians, Strava Preparation Series Challenges, digital dashboards, and a dedicated photo stage. Building on this foundation, we expanded our reach for the 2024 race through a multifaceted awareness campaign. This included print ads in targeted cycling magazines and a series of digital ads on social media and YouTube. Additionally, we created engaging content by partnering with cyclist Simon Stoffberg for influencer marketing, boosting awareness and engagement around the Strava Challenge Series. This comprehensive approach not only increased participation but also expanded awareness to a broader fitness community, reinforcing the idea that progress—whether in cycling or financial investment—is achieved by going further together.
